Powerball jackpot goes to $394 million Wednesday; Three players matched the first five numbers

The Powerball multi-state lottery jackpot moved to $394 million (lump-sum cash payout $274.6 million) Wednesday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $373 million drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Saturday night, January 25th, 2020 were 02-09-17-36-67 with Power Ball 18.
Although there was no jackpot winner Saturday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were three tickets that correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The 3 lucky ticket(s) sold in Minnesota(1), North Carolina(1) and Texas(1), each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Also, 27 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 1 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash! In addition, 720 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 152 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Saturday night included 1931 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 435 additional tickets at this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine prize tiers, the Saturday night's drawing created 1,286,275 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. The overall odds of winning any prizes are about 1 to 32. The odds of winning Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 175 million. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners can select one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
