Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rises to $376 million; Four players matched the first five numbers

The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $376 million. The lump-sum cash payout stands at an estimated $256.4 million up for grab. The prize amount was rolled over since no one matched all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number in Tuesday's $347 million drawing. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is Friday night. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, January 18th, 2022 were 04-19-39-42-52 and the Mega Ball was 09, Megaplier was 4.

While the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There were four tickets that matched all 5 lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The four second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won a quarter million dollar cash each.

Other major winners Tuesday night included 21 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional winners Tuesday night included 526 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 1473 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine different ways to win, there were a total of 2,079,114 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions uses a 5/75+1/46 system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The overall odds of winning are about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions jackpot are about 1 in 258 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $12 million. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal yearly payments.
