The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $395,000,000

The grand prize for Friday Mega Millions game rolled up to $395,000,000 (cash value $$188.2 million) after no one hit all six winning numbers Tuesday night. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, December 5th, 2023 were 18-35-40-64-67 and the Mega Ball was 18, Megaplier was 4.

Even though the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. A total of 15 lucky tickets won the third prize. These included 15 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 268 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 789 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine ways to win, there were a total of 1,245,470 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 drawing.

Mega Millions is played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players in prizes. Approximately 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. To play, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 56 then pick 1 Mega Ball number from a set of 15. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at 12 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal yearly payments. Winners may choose one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
