MA Mega Millions News and Payout for Friday, January 3rd, 2025 Drawing

The jackpot in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $62,000,000. The lump-sum cash payout stands at $$27.7 million. The prize amount was rolled over since no one matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number in Friday's $42,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday, January 3rd, 2025 drawing were 20, 42, 46, 59, 69 with Mega Ball number 19 and Megaplier x4.

Even though the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. A total of 4 lucky players won the 3rd prize. Among them, 4 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.

Additional prizes won Friday evening included 165 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 446 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine prize levels, there were a total of 823,200 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, January 3rd, 2025 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. To play Mega Millions, select 5 numbers from 1 to 56 then choose one Mega Ball number from a set of 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The odds of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 258,890,850. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at 12 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal yearly payments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
