There has been another roll-over in the jackpot for the multistate Mega Millions game - to $166,000,000. The cash value will be $$75.2 million up for grab. The jackpot grew because no player matched all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number from Tuesday night's $150,000,000 drawing. The winning numbers from Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 drawing were 12, 27, 42, 59, 65 with Mega Ball 02 and Megaplier X. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 38 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.One lucky winner from IL won the $344 million jackpot in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.

Though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. 7 3rd prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. Among them, 7 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.

Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 119 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $150. There were 305 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $150.

With nine ways to win, there were a total of 403,870 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Approximately 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Mega Millions uses a 5/75+1/46 system from which winning numbers are chosen. The chances of winning any prizes are about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions jackpot are about 1 in 258 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $12,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual installments. Winners can select one lump sum cash payout option instead.
