The winning ticket for the Massachusetts Mega Millions grand prize of 31,000,000 was sold in MA. Nobody has yet claimed the prize from Tuesday night's drawing in the multistate lottery. The numbers from Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 drawing were 07, 09, 18, 29, 39 and the Mega Ball was 13, Megaplier was 4. The jackpot winner will now have to decide to either take the 26 equal annual payments with yearly payment approximately of $1.19 million before taxes, or the one time cash option in the amount of $16.5 million before tax withholding. The jackpot winner is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a safe place and get in touch with lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the opportunity to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.

Besides the grand prize awarded on Tuesday, Mega Millions created far more pleased winners walked away with big money. 19 3rd prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. These included 19 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Other prizes won Tuesday night included 356 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 1038 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine different ways to win, there were 1,035,846 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 drawing.

The new Massachusetts Mega Millions lottery grand prize is estimated at 20,000,000 for Friday, February 3rd, 2023. The cash option will be $10.7 million.

Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 56 then choose one Mega Ball number from a set of 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $12,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual payments. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
