Enormous Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery jackpot rolled up to $687,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$332.3 million) Friday night when there were no top prize winners in the $650,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers from Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 drawing were 02-49-50-61-70 and the Mega Ball was 14, Megaplier was 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 25 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.

Though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were two lucky winners matched the first 5 numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in CA,MI will collect $250,000 cash each.

In addition, 19 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Also, 538 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $150. Other prizes won included 1444 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $150.

With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 2,348,990 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. The chances of winning are about 1 to 14. The chances of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 258 million. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 12 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
