The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $735,000,000

The Mega Millions game grand prize has been pumped up to an estimated $735,000,000 (cash option $$356.7 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Tuesday night. The jackpot amount has been carried over because no one hit all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number to take the $687,000,000 grand prize Friday night. The numbers from Friday, March 8th, 2024 drawing were 19, 20, 22, 47, 58 and the Mega Ball was 01, Megaplier was 3. The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for 26 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.

Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There were two lucky tickets matched the first five numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The two lucky ticket(s) sold in GA,TX, each won $250,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Additional prizes won Friday evening included 20 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 564 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $150. Other prizes won included 1563 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $150.

With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 2,342,594 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 8th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 member states as a shared jackpot game. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. Approximately 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/75 (white balls) + 1/46 (Mega Balls) system to randomly pick winning numbers. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 12 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual installments. Winners may select one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
