Powerball jackpot climbs to $185,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The jackpot in the Powerball multistate lottery game continues going up and will be up to an estimated $185,000,000 for the upcoming drawing on Wednesday. The cash option stands at a projected $$92.1 million up for grab. The amount was rolled over because no player matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $174,000,000 grand prize Monday night. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, August 5th, 2024 were 29-42-44-51-54 with Power Ball 12.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Monday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There was only one lucky player that correctly matched all five white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in IA will collect $1 million cash.
Additional prizes won Monday night included 6 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional players not only matched 4+1, but additionally chose the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other prizes won Monday night included 136 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 56 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, but also bought the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Monday night included 368 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Powerball and won $100. 121 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
With nine different prize levels, the Monday night's drawing produced 334,737 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the original prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
