There has been another carry over in the grand prize for the multistate Powerball lottery - to $482,000,000. The cash option will be a projected $$218.9 million up for grab. The grand prize grew because nobody matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number from Wednesday night's $449,000,000 drawing. The numbers from Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 drawing were 15-27-43-45-53 with Power Ball 09.
While the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. There were 4 second prize winners from Wednesday night's drawing, matching all five lotto numbers except the Powerball number. The 4 lucky ticket(s) bought in CA(1), NJ(1), NY(1) and OH(1), each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other major winners Wednesday evening included 10 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 321 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 100 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! America's favorite Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Powerball, pick 5 numbers from a set of 59 and select a Powerball number from 1 to 35. Each play costs $2.
